The webcam is very nice and small; however, every time I try and put in the install disc my computer crashes to the dreaded blue screen error. Returning tomorrow and buying something other than logitech. PS- yes I followed the directions and yes my system meets all requirements.

I just got this today, and my face look more “flat” using the webcam.
(go to see the photos at the custumor’s uploaded pictures)
How do I know it is the webcam’s problem? Because when I rotate my head 90 degree (so my face is horizontal), now all of a sudden my face becomes “long face”. Without rotating, my face becomes “short face”.
If it requires further explanation: say, if the width of my face shows up on this webcam as 0.8 inch and my face is 1 inch tall on this webcam, so if I rotate my face 90 degree, now all of a sudden, my face is 1.2 inch tall while it is still 0.8 inch wide. So I have a taller face now.
The real issue is that it makes my face more “flat”, and thus more “fat”. I don’t want to use it to chat with my parents or any net friends.
As a function of a webcam, the aspect ratio issue fails the product.
(the settings doesn’t have a way to adjust the aspect ratio).
P.S. it is not due to my LCD panel’s aspect ratio. I see Jessica Alba or Brad Pitt’s photo fine. If I rotate the photo by 90 degree using software, their face still look the same ratio.

I was unsatified with the quality of the picture with this web cam. So, I returned it.

I installed this on my desk and laptop. The software wiped out my cd and dvd drivers. Customer service was no help at all. I had to use recovery on the desktop. Uninstalling upper and lower filters worked on the laptop.
I reinstalled via the website and the same problem happened.
Not worth the headache!

Real review by a Real consumer.
This is my first Webcam so I have nothing to compare with. Very poor quality and grainy picture. When MS video messaging, the video gets worse, looks like a digital scramble so faces cannot be recognized. This is not the top of the line Logitech Webcam but it’s not the cheapest either @ under $50. In today’s economy I don’t buy the most expensive stuff, just the middle of the line and hope it works out OK. I read in some reviews that computer equipment and internet connection may contribute to the quality of the webcam videos. This Logitech Webcam is connected to a not too expensive, middle of the line DELL desktop, Vista 64 bit , Intel core 2 Quad, 6 GB dual channel SDRAM, ATI video card 4670 with HD and connected via HDMI to a 24 inch HD flat panel. My internet service is not the fastest but it’s hard wired to `Comcast’ high speed cable. I bought this webcam because of some of the great reviews but I guess these reviews may not be written by real consumers or maybe these people must have expensive top of the line computer hardware and internet connections. Very disappointed with this Webcam.
Update, 5 May 2009: Even though it states that this Webcam works with all the common Video conferencing applications, it performs very poorly with MS Messaging and slightly better with Skype. I have to use ooVoo video service since it can produce better images and sound. Images are still poor and grainy and the sound is very choppy, but an acceptable improvement over Skype and MSM. I am upgrading this Webcam from a 1 Star to a 3 Star since it is useable even if it is less than perfect.
